Classes & Learning Tracks
Our classes are separated into 2 learning tracks :
BRAILLE LEARNER and LOW VISION LEARNER
Within each of these tracks we offer age appropriate and customized learner content so that each student can gain the most from their class time.
The class time length and content vary based on the students & their IEP plan requirements. But, our classes are ALWAYS centered around the Expanded Core Curriculum which is the guide for all blind and low vision learner instruction.
We use functional vision assessments, qualifying acuity documentation and faculty, parent and student observations (along with the current student IEP) to determine the most appropriate track for each learner.
At Evision Academy, our goal is to always help our students to improve their functional lives.
BRAILLE TRACK 1
Students enrolled in this track receive grade 1 and 2 literary braille instruction and direct or consultative services covering aspects of the Expanded Core Curriculum through our recorded and interactive web classes. All classes are led by certified Teachers of Visual Impairment (TVIs) and other professionals as needed.
LOW VISION TRACK 1
Students enrolled in this track receive classes that encourage the utilization of functional and residual vision. Special emphasis on self advocacy and technology and all aspects of Expanded Core Curriculum to minimize the effect that low vision has on daily life in coming years. All classes are led by certified Teachers of Visual Impairment (TVIs) and other professionals as needed.
